Background:The Blue Haze is a Rhode Island and Maran cross. A very popular breed, they often have a longer life than other hybrid breeds.
Personality: They are large, docile and calm birds which adapt well to back gardens and smallholdings alike. They are ideal for first time chicken keepers and are one of the popular choices for a mixed flock of hens.
Appearance: Blue Hazes are beautiful hens in a variety of blue grey colours, sometimes varying from violet to dark grey with dark lacing on the feathers. Some also have tinges of red and white in their breast feathers.
Eggs: The Blue Haze is a productive egg layer, rewarding her keeper with 260 to 280 beautiful brown eggs (some with a slight plum blush colour) in her first year of lay.
